Six Months!

Jacob is now six months old! I can't believe it. He is changing SO much.
Six month stats--
Height--27 3/4 inch (according to the doctor, he only grew 3/4 inch in two months. I'm hoping the first measurement was a little off. He is now in the 90th percentile.)

Weight--17 pounds (1/2 ounce away...This puts him almost in the 50th percentile. He is getting skinny. His nine month pants fit him in the length, but the waist is too loose on most of his pants.)

New skills--He is rolling over like crazy all across the room. He doesn't sit up yet by himself, but he continues to do his ab crunches where he lifts his head and legs up. He doesn't like laying down on his back very much. He's even started sleeping on his stomach sometimes. He blabbers all the time--dada, etc.

Food--He has been eating rice cereal for over a month now. He's also tried peas--the first time he almost threw up, but the second time he ate them right up. He needs to learn to like vegetables even though his dad doesn't like them! I still breastfeed him 4 to 5 times a day, too.

Sleeping--He sleeps through the night (8 hours) about 4 or 5 times a week. The past two nights he has been in his crib 11 to 12 hours without a crying fit or needing to eat, so I'm hoping this continues. He is also starting to take one good nap a day around 1 1/2 hours. I put him down for a second one, but he doesn't always sleep.

Overall, things are going pretty well. I really enjoy staying home with him, but I know I could really do more around the house instead of hanging out so much. Oh, well!

Here are some pictures to show how much he has changed in the past six months!

Cereal!

A couple of weeks ago, I tried rice cereal for the first time with Jacob. The first day he didn't like it, so I waited a couple of days. The second day he LOVED it! He has been eating it every night. I usually give it to him when Larry and I eat dinner. Now if he sees us eating without him he gets a little upset. He gets really excited when he sees his spoon! Though many mothers claim it doesn't help, I think the rice cereal has helped him sleep through the night. He has slept through more nights than before. He's not sleeping 10-12 hours straight yet, but I'll take 8 hours without a feeding!

This is Jacob's first taste of cereal on January 18.

Bon Jovi Baby

Just like his mom, Jacob loves Bon Jovi. He is jealous that she and daddy get to see Bon Jovi in concert on March 2.

Here is what happens when he sees them on TV:

I know it's bad quality, but I couldn't refuse!

Bodies by Jake

Jacob has been working out so much! He could lead his own exercise video. Here are just a few of his exercises:

This exercise is designed to improve leg strength. Plus, it's really fun!

My abs are getting so strong from lifting my head and legs up and holding that position as long as I can. It's great for improving core strength.

The down side to all this rolling over is that sometimes I get stuck!

(All these videos were taken on Jan. 25--more to come soon!)
